Have you ever prayed and asked God how you could help out in your community? If so, did you wait for the Lord to give you clear instructions before taking action? One of the biggest hurdles I see for everyday believers around getting involved in their communities is not knowing where to start. If you don’t know what to do, it’s easy to feel paralyzed and not do anything. The first step is starting with prayer. And that’s how my next guest, Sarah Blankenship, first got involved in the orphan crisis.

Sarah Blankenship and her husband have been married and in ministry together since 2003. They have two sons, Hunter and Hayden. Sarah is the communications director at Teen Reach Adventure Camp, which is an adventure kickball summer camp for teens who are in foster care.

Here are a few highlights from part two of my conversation with Sarah Blankenship:

  • Teen Reach Adventure Camp
  • How churches can get involved in caring for vulnerable children
  • Advice to pastors
  • Ways to bring support to foster families
Sarah Blankenship quote episode 6 It's Time to Adopt

I hope this conversation with Sarah encourages you to consider volunteering and mentoring children. Pastors, we pray that this encourages you to communicate the vision and partner with foster and adoptive family support organizations. If you would like to help this show reach more believers, please leave a rating and review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. Until next time…
