There are plenty of verses in the Bible in which you can hear God’s heart beating for the weak and needy, the poor and the oppressed, right? Verses such as James 1:27, Isaiah 1:17, and Psalm 82:3-4. But today, I want to look specifically at Matthew 25:31-46. In Matthew, Jesus reveals how He will judge the nations upon His return. And we discover that Jesus takes it personally when we show compassion and care for those in need.

In this episode, we explore the biblical foundations for caring for vulnerable children, the importance of welcoming foster children into our homes as an act of obedience, and an opportunity to welcome Jesus into our lives.

Highlights from this episode include:

  • The sheep and the goats
  • A call to obey God’s heart
  • What God says is pleasing to him
  • Getting involved in foster care
Lucrece Bundy quote It's Time to Adopt Episode 7

Despite our busy lives, we are called to practically care for vulnerable children within our communities. And this revelation extends to opening up our homes to foster children as well.  We must shift our focus from what’s comfortable to us to what pleases God and prioritize His heart by loving and serving others. I’d love to hear if the church is prioritizing caring for vulnerable children in your community. Send me a message on Instagram and let me know!
